Yes! I am the poster! !
“Aim for the Top!”, which we collaborated on this time, is a science fiction robot anime produced by Gainax (currently bankrupt and the rights have been transferred to Color).
Although it consists of 6 episodes, it has a huge amount of setting (pseudoscience, world view, behavior, props, etc.), as well as homages and parodies, making it a work with great depth.
Collaboration period (from 7/1 to 7/31)
Let’s take a look at the details of such an event!
Collaboration story, details
This collaboration begins with the battle to absolutely defend the solar system in episode 5 of the original anime, “Please!! Time for Love!”, and revolves around Gunbuster, who successfully annihilates hundreds of millions of space monsters, and Noriko and Kazumi, who were on board, drift ashore in the Iron Saga world.
In addition, the “space monsters” in this work are also called STMC (Space Terrible Monster Crowd), and the definition is ambiguous other than that they are living creatures and act to destroy humanity.
It somewhat reminds me of the Space Monster from Iron Saga, but when Noriko and her friends encounter it in the collaboration, it is pointed out that it is different from the space monster.
Also, the reason why Noriko and her friends are shown worrying about time so much in the collaboration is because Koichiro Ota (who is Noriko’s coach and Kazumi’s beloved) has only a short time left to live, and they were worried about whether they would be able to meet again while he was still alive.
Finally, the scene where Noriko mistakes the official name of warp navigation and Kazumi corrects it is based on the bonus video “Aim for the Top! Science Lecture”, which is only available on video media. Furthermore, in the original story, Noriko is scolded by Koichiro for not being able to tell Roku her formal name, and is made to dictate kanji 100 times.
*Let’s check what’s wrong.
If you are a fan of the work, it would be a good idea to look for other original material as well.
About the limited time collaboration “Aim for the top!” event
I will explain the parts added in this limited time collaboration (from 7/1 to 7/31).
1) Limited time quest “Aim for the top!”
From the “Base” screen, select “Departure” – “Aim for the top!” from the following screens.
In the collaboration, you will proceed with the strategy while following the story in order from 1-1 “Absolute Defense of the Solar System”. Up to 1-5 “Goodbye! Eternal Now”, the battles are easy because the units are fixed.
1-6 “And Love in the Future” is difficult for some people because you have to fight in a team that you have formed.
If you can’t win, use your friends (select another player’s team from the “Select Friend” screen) and get help from strong players (which can be estimated by the amount of coins spent) to conquer the game. *Collaboration limited items have a purpose, so please do not sell them until the collaboration ends.
Dimensional Research Institute (TOP)
From the “Base” screen, proceed to the following screen in the order of “Development” – “Dimension Research Institute (TOP)”.
Here, you can earn restoration plans and pilots using the restoration points you earn.
*Restore plans and earning restore points will be explained later.
Boss strategy
From the “Base” screen, proceed to the following screen in the order of “Mini Game” – “Boss Challenge” – “Combine into Flames”.
There is a separate article about strategies, so please refer to it.
About the restoration plan of Dimensional Research Institute (TOP)
Restoration plans allow you to obtain aircraft by consuming specific items.
The number of collaboration limited items, coins, and superalloys required is listed in the table below. For collaboration limited items, go around collaboration stages 1-5 and 1-6.
To modify the aircraft, you need 5 aircraft of the same type, so complete them.
1) Number of items required to obtain aircraft at Dimensional Research Institute (TOP)
| Aircraft | Required items | Quantity | |
| Buster Machine No. 1 *Total 4 machines | Collaboration only | Buster Alloy | 80 |
| Data [Buster Machine] | 720 | ||
| Buster Shield | 20 | ||
| Normal | Coin | 400000 | |
| Superalloy | 12000 | ||
| Buster Machine No. 2 *Total 4 machines | Collaboration only | Buster Alloy | 80 |
| Data [Buster Machine] | 720 | ||
| Buster Shield | 20 | ||
| Normal | Coin | 400000 | |
| Superalloy | 12000 | ||
| 1 Gunbuster in total | Collaboration only | Buster Alloy | 150 |
| Data [Buster Machine] | 500 | ||
| Degeneracy furnace | 30 | ||
| Normal | Coin | 200000 | |
| Superalloy | 6000 | ||
*Buster Machine No. 1 can be obtained after completing 1-6, and Buster Machine No. 2 can be obtained after reaching 2000 restore points.
*Quantity is the number when all aircraft are acquired.
Things to do throughout the event period
There are three main things you need to do: obtain limited collaboration items, join a pilot, and earn restore points.
1) Obtain limited collaboration items
Collaboration limited items can be obtained in limited time quests 1-5 and 1-6. Let’s go around until we get the amount we need in the Dimensional Research Institute (TOP)’s restoration plan.
2) Adding a pilot
The pilots Noriko Takaya and Kazumi Amano have different acquisition methods, so I will explain them separately.
2-1) How to obtain Noriko Takayan
You can obtain it using the following three standard methods.
Recruitment request (scout)
This is the method to scout by moving from the “coffee shop” screen to “request (scout)”.
However, unlike gacha, there is no ceiling (it is not a specification that you will definitely win if you play 100 times), so I cannot recommend it unless you have about 200 scout tickets.
You can obtain it using the following three standard methods.
Soliciting at a coffee shop
This method takes time, but is the easiest way to get it.
Coffee shop pilot changes occur at 0:00, 3:00, 9:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, and 21:00, plus one free change per day, making a total of 8 times a day.
The pilots will be replaced at random, but during the event period, there is a high probability that Noriko Takaya will appear, so we will do it steadily.
In addition, if you tap the black cat that sometimes appears in the center right of the “coffee shop” screen and give it a favorability item (“blue hair tie”), you can increase the probability of its next appearance.
If that’s not enough, you can repeat the change 39 times a day by consuming 20 Star Diamonds, so try it.
And when the pilot you like comes along, use coins, star diamonds, and presents (chocolate or chocolate bonbons) generously to increase his favorability.
If your favorability rating rises to 60, you can invite them.
Use heart gift
Purchase and obtain Heart Gift, which is a paid item. This is the quickest method.
2-2) How to obtain Amano Kazumi
Once the restore points reach 3000, you can get it at Dimensional Research Institute (TOP).
This is not a problem as you just need to earn restore points steadily.
Earn restore points
You can earn restore points in the following three ways.
・Complete limited time quests 1-5 or 1-6.
・Defeat the Gap Beast that appears on the map from Chapters 18 to 55 of the main story.
・Go on an expedition from chapter 18 to chapter 55 of the main story.
*For information on expeditions, please refer to the article on expeditions on this strategy site.
However, since there are many items required to restore the aircraft, we recommend completing limited time quests 1-5 or 1-6.
About acquiring Gunbuster
According to the game specifications, aircraft can be modified and strengthened, but to do so, five of the same aircraft are required. To complete Gunbuster’s modification, acquire the aircraft in the following four ways.
1) Obtained at Dimensional Research Institute (TOP)
As mentioned above in “3. About the Restoration Plan for the Dimensional Research Institute (TOP)”, you can obtain one if you meet the acquisition conditions.
2) Exchange at Chogokin Σ Store
You can obtain one aircraft with 175 Super Alloy Σ from “Exchange” at the bottom of the “Shop” screen.
3) Use the Sun Wing Medal
It can be obtained using the “Wings of the Sun Medal” during the period (7/1 to 7/31).
4) Obtained from gacha aircraft
The rest after obtaining in 1)2)3) can be obtained by spinning the aircraft gacha 1 gacha available from the “Shop” screen as shown below.
・Free gacha is held once every two days.
・Use the voucher EX-“Aim for the top” that you can get as a login bonus.
・Use 10 consecutive gacha tickets, exchange coupon EX, and star diamonds.
・If you don’t have enough money, pay to buy a gacha ticket.
It is a ceiling specification that can be obtained by spinning the gacha up to 100 times, but there is a high probability that you will get it before that time, so please consider your financial situation before proceeding.
At the end
Both collaboration pilots and aircraft have high performance, so I would like to get them if possible.
If it is difficult to arrange the aircraft, get just the pilot!
